I often get asked about the ingredients and equipment we use. So I wanted to provide you with quick links to the exact items we use at the shop and at my home. Below you will find kitchen equipment, books that taught me the importance of a plant-based whole-food diet, and supplements that my family and I take. These are items I trust, and use to make decadent treats and plant-based whole-food meals.

I generally don't want more equipment cluttering my kitchen, so I'm not one to buy the latest trendy kitchen equipment. But these are tools I use on a regular basis.
I absolutely love my Vitamix blender and use it at least two or three times a day at home. My family and I use it to make smoothies, nicecream, vegan cheeses, yogurt, soup, creamy dressings, pastry cream, hummus, etc. It is also the only blender I trust to use at the shop.
Nut Milk Bag
All of our milk at the shop is handmade. These nylon bags are large and sturdy and last the longest. You might be able to find less expensive nut milk bags at your local grocery store, which are great for learning at first, but they just don't hold up very long.
There are three types of juicers: Centrifugal, which are the most affordable and fastest countertop juicers; Masticating, which are a little slower but extract more juice from your produce; and Cold-press, which extract the most juice and nutrients, but are labor intensive and the most costly. For juicing at home I recommend a centrifugal juicer. I use an old Jack LaLanne centrifugal juicer, and it has lasted me over 10 years. We only replace the blade after it gets dull. However, that is only needed if you use your juicer quite often. I also included the best cold-pressed juicer for your home.
I prefer the smaller spiralizer because it is compact and costs less, but you can only fit small veggies in it. If you want to spiralize a variety of fruit and veggies, then I would recommend the larger spiralizer above.
A food processor is great for making raw pastries, sauces, salads, etc.!
I use these supplements by adding them into my smoothies or sprinkling them on top of salads, and take them when I think I might be getting a cold.
I always try to find the organic, vegetarian, gluten freewhole-food supplements. There are many studies which show that if vitamins are derived from only one nutrient from the plant and not the whole-food, they have little to no positive effect. Spirulina & Chlorella
We love adding extra greens to our smoothies to give us a boost of energy and nutrients. Spirulina and Chlorella are both algaes and are made from the whole plant. They are also a great source of protein and chlorophyll.
Hemp Seeds are a great source of protein and fiber. The ones above are shelled. I blend them into smoothies, put them on my salads and bowls, and make milk or creamy dressings with them.
Oil of Oregano
Oil from the oregano plant has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. If any of us are feeling like we are coming down with a cold or sniffles we take a few drops of oregano oil. It has a spicy taste, so my kids take it with a little rice milk to cover up the spice. You can also use a few drops with a carrier oil and rub it on the bottom of their feet when they are sleeping.
Chia Seeds are full of nutrients, protein and fiber. We add them to smoothies, salads, or make pudding with them.
Garlic Ear Oil
Whenever my kids or I get an ear ache or ear infection we put a few drops of this garlic oil in the ear. Garlic is a natural antibiotic.
Flax seeds are good for so many things! They are one of the best sources of omega 3's, have anti-inflammatory properties, and are high in fiber and lignans. Studies have shown that they assist with high-blood pressure and fight cancer. I add organic ground flax seeds to smoothies, salads and baked goods.
Flax Seed Oil & Turmeric
My husband has a severe gluten allergy. Whenever he gets glutened, he immediately takes some flaxseed oil and turmeric capsules, which assists with inflammation and decreases his gluten symptoms immediately. I take them occasionally when I have inflammation.
This is a natural antibiotic that I use occasionally when I feel like I might be getting a cold.
Lysine is an amino acid. This one is vegan and gluten free. I take Lysine when I am stressed and feel a cold sore coming on. This helps immediately, I haven't had a cold sore in many years.
My family and I use elderberry Syrup to boost our immune systems when we know colds are going around. It contains no added sweeteners. Elderberries contain a high amount of vitamin C and antioxidants.
